Series Info
The Amica Triathlon Series began in 2009 with 5,000+ triathletes competing in eight races nationwide. In 2010, the Amica Triathlon Series will be adding two new races in Newport, Rhode Island and Boston, Massachusetts - as well as converting all 10 races to one uniform distance - 19.7 miles.19.7: In 1907, the Automobile Mutual Insurance Company of America – or Amica – was born. In 2010, The Amica Triathlon Series will be using a standardized sprint distance of 19.7 miles. The 19.7 will consist of a .5 mile swim, 16.1 mile bike and a 3.1 mile run.
